Friday 14th September
Since about 17 weeks i have had flutterings in my tummy that i thought might be baby, but no real kicks. At the 20 week scan we found out i had an anterior placenta, which basically means that the placenta is lying between bubs and my belly, so even though baby was wriggling in the scan it was kicking the placenta rather than my belly and i was not feeling it. However over the last 2 weeks have felt proper kicks which is really nice, Mike managed to feel them for the first time at the weekend which was really nice. Today i also noticed my belly actually moving with the wriggles - very strange, am waiting for the hiccups to start next!!
Am jetting off to Vietnam tomorrow to meet Mike for a long weekend in Saigon and then next week we have our first appointment with the obs for about 11 weeks, so hope all goes well. Will try to post another bump pic next week as well - it just keeps getting bigger and bigger!!!

- This is the blog site of the McGoverns. It started off with Emma & Michael, we met in Aberystwyth and married in August 2004. We moved to Hong Kong in January 2007 and upon finding out we were expecting a baby the following year we set up a blog for friends and family at home to follow. Upon the arrival of Baby McGovern on 24th January 2008, we set up the blog Eleanor McGovern to tell of her adventures in Hong Kong and Singapore. We moved back to the UK in March 2010 and left the blog behind. However, with the arrival of a new baby McGovern (Matilda on 18th January 2011) and a realisation that our travels have left us with friends all over the globe we need to keep in touch with, as well as family that whilst nearer are still too far away - we have a new blog to start!
