Friday 15th June
Had our first appointment with the obstetrician. I am with a doctors in Wan Chai and my obs is a Scottish lady, so it is nice to have someone who knows and uses the UK system of scans and appointments. It also means that I am being given the same advice as I would be in the UK, which I am sure would differ from the Chinese advice - especially on things like safe foods and medicines.
Anyway, everything was fine with the appointment and i passed all my checks on blood pressure etc. As I am rhesus neg blood and we were not sure what Mike is we decided that he should have a blood test as well, so we both came out with white plasters on our arms!
The obs then said "As i have a scanner in the room would you like to have a look at your baby?" So we got to see our baby at only 9 weeks and 5 days. Absolutely amazing, we saw tiny fingers and toes and bubs had its feet pointed outwards in a kind of dancing position - so we think it might have its dad's dancing talent - maybe an Irish dancing champion in the making!!
