20 week scan

Monday 27th August

Well we hobbled to our anomaly scan this morning in Central. Very excited about seeing baby again. When we walked into the scan room I got the comfy chair and Mike sat next to me facing a huge wall mounted tv screen that was going to show us how baby was doing - it was like our own home cinema!!

The scan was all good. Baby got lots of perfect comments, which made me smile! We saw the brain and its facial features again, a heart with all the chambers doing their job, the stomach, spine, thigh bones, little feet and hands (which were still in fists trying to make the scanner go away!!) The scan picture shows the profile of it's face clearly and then on the right in its chest you can just make out the heart.
We were very well behaved and did not ask for the sex, even though the doctor asked us twice if we were sure. We did not notice anything on the scan to give us a clue although the doctor did go quiet at one point, whereas normally he was explaining what he was looking at, so maybe we should have paid attention then. So bets are still on ladies and gents - what do you think - Seamus or Myfanwy??!!

Seamus or Myfanwy, are you sure?

If want an Irish name for a boy how about Cian, or Ciaran or Connor, or Brendan? And there are so many lovey Welsh girl's names to - Bethan, Bronwyn, Carys (that means the beloved one!), Eirwen, Gywneth...
